Happy Halloween everybody. Best holiday ever! Ron and I chose Avatar as our theme this year. We finished this time around 9:30 PM, missed the parade again and went to a really crappy campus Halloween Party at the Student Center. :XYou had to buy food, the DJ sucked, the music selection was extreme narrow and not to my taste, no Halloween music was played, and there were no cool events planned (ie, raffles, giveaways, contests).:shakefish: It might have been slightly more bearable if there were booze :absolut::beer: even if I had to pay for them. *mutters* Damn underage lower classman. But there were a lot of creatively dressed people, and female hookers of every kind: police hookers, cabbie hooker, angel hooker, hooker hookers. Check out my gallery for pics of Ron and I.

Life update:
:reading:I went back to school part-time in the spring to inch my way toward that BA in Liberal Arts with a dual major in Music and Math. I'll probably have enough music credits by the end of this semester, but I want to finish the full 4 semester course of Ear Training, Keyboard Workshop, and Music Theory. And I'm not giving up Brooklyn College Chorale. If anyone is in the NYC area on December 11 at 3PM (worst time ever!) and would like to hear some holiday music cheap, come on down to Brooklyn College.

In sadder life news, which I'm just posting now because I was too upset at the time, my nephew was attacked by the family dog and died on January 3, 2008. He would have been 9 months on the 17th. I lost two nephews that day.:sadangel: I still have the art and photos of the nursery wall I designed and painted with the help of my bff Ron, and I still want to post them someday when I get the time. My sister has decided to have another baby, and decided to keep the walls as they are with the addition of some butterflies. They are expecting a girl due around February.

The Comic Book Art class I teach at the Beth Elohim afterschool is going well. I've got an energetic bunch of 3rd-6th graders this trimester. They all said they liked manga/anime, so we're exploring that style right now. I've got pseudo lesson plans and everything.

Recently I started teaching myself guitar and wrote a song for it.:music: This past Tuesday the Undergrad Theatre Organization at Brooklyn College hosted a Halloween Open Mic, where I won first place in the costume contest as Darkwing Duck .:winner: I got to play my new song, "Boat of Freedom"(working title) as Drake Mallard (the hat, mask and cape got in the way) and I also got the room rocking to "Twist and Shout" by the Beatles which was rollicking good fun. As intermissions from the open mic fun, they played Halloween music whereupon people got up and danced. It was everything a Halloween event should be, complete with free food purchased or made by the UTO members. I hope to receive pics of the event soon to post up here.

Art Update:
Aside from Halloween, since my last update I have accomplished nada, kein art, and zilch. I didn't even do a pumpkin this year. But I hope to one day upload pics of past pumpkins.

Fic Update:
Pretty much same as above with the exception that it has actually been on my mind a lot lately along with some new ideas, such as a DWD/DT xover, a DWD/HP xover, and an HP/House MD xover. (Anybody spot a theme here?) If any of you think those are keen ideas and would like to see something actually written down on them, give me a shout here. Or if you love me, or if you think I rock, or if you're just lonely and such, drop me a line here.

Tagliness is next to updateliness

Wonder of wonders...I got tagged! What an excellent opportunity to let you all know that I am still alive while updating my club list down at the bottom there and letting you in on some facts about yours truly *puffed up Darkwing Duck stance*

So here's how it works cats and kittens:

Giveth 9 random facts about thyself, then picketh 9 bloggers to be tagged. Thee must also goeth to the tagged person's page and comment that they are tagged.

1) Which brings us to fact #1: I will just randomly insert odd dialects into ANY conversation.

2) I love all animals, but especially cats, wolves, and snakes.

3) Contrary to fact #2, I am unfortunately allergic to cats.

4) I had My Little Ponies AND Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a kid. (Playing with them together rocked! *Sniffs sadly* Why did I donate them when we moved!?)

5) I am a driven, dedicated, perfectionist bass living in a lazy, procrastinating first soprano body.

6) I'm capable of being obsessed with many fandoms simultaneously and I'm always in pursuit of the perfect crossover fic idea.

7) Twice I sang"Tthe Star Spangled Banner" for a local sporting event. (It's scary as hell!)

8) All roaches and fleas should DIE!!!!

9) I've never been outside of the U.S. of A..

It's tagtime!

In other news, I did get the Pooh characters finished and I painted them on my nephew's wall with the help of my best friend Ron. I haven't done jack for my DT/ST x-over comic in ages, but I'm always writing down ideas for my original comic, Roach Motel. Although I'm thinking of changing it to Fleabag Inn *deathray glare at Ron* Fleas are truly evil. :furious:

A happy belated Halloween to all. Ron & I finished our costumes at the 11th hour, or more precisely, at about 8:30 pm; we missed the parade. I was Darkwing Duck :D and he was Hammerhead Hannigan. Hopefully, I'll be posting pics of the costumes and this year's pumpkin soon.

The Darkwing Domain ID Submission That Never Was is at the same stage it was when I last told you guys about it. There's a reason why I picked Procrastinator as my devart personality. Same story with those promised scraps.

Ducktales goodness: 3rd collection comes out tomorrow! Squeeee! Haven't yet decided to just buy it myself or add it to my Christmakkah list.

Oh, I'm finally teaching a class at afterschool: Comic Strip. But my boss won't pay for the final product I envisioned; I imagined the finished result of my students' efforts would be a 10 page color comic book, or roughly one colored page per student. She won't spring for that many pages let alone *gasp* in color! I wish I could add a Photoshop component to the class, but I've only got the one laptop, and what's the point if it's not color anyways. I'm trying to strike a bargain where the comics with long storylines would be B&W but the one framers would be in color.

Quick question to ya'll, seeing as I can't do an actual poll: Should I post my completed fanfic one-shots here on deviantart? Let me know.

Impatient Nephew!

Saturday the 14th, we had my sister's baby shower, somewhat confident in the knowledge that the kid wasn't due till late May. That Monday, she went in. They said they would observe her for about twenty-four hours, and that everybody else should go home and get some sleep. We get the call about 4am Tuesday, April 17.

Apparently, Andrew Armstrong didn't want to wait twenty-four hours. He was born at 3:02am EST at 5 pounds, 1 ounce. His daddy got back to the hospital just in time. His mummy and daddy and grandparents have all seen him. I am neither a parent, nor a grandparent, so I have not. *scowls*

In other news, this bumps up my Pooh art plans. I have scanned the designs for Pooh, Piglet, and Eeyore that I will be using for my nephew's wall, but they need major clean-up before i even think of posting them up here. Next, I have to sketch Tigger and Roo. Then I have to plan out my colors so that I can economize on the paint I get.

After that, I must devote some serious time to my original comic if I want to get it done in time for the May staff art show at the Temple I work at. Pity I can't just submit fanart.

Also, Happy Earth Day to the world and all the creatures on it! W00t!

And as usual, check out my stuff, and these cool places (now, with some GMD!):

Something freakish is going on today: I've got a great wireless connection. So I figured, what the heck, might as well update this journal.

I've uploaded a few more things since my last journal entry: three of the fearsome five from the Darkwing Domain ID Submission That Never Was, my javert costume pic, a christmas parody, and a hastily done-for-contest Snape in pajamas, clutching his favorite plushie: DW of course!

I was wondering if I should post my fanfiction on here as well as fanfiction.net. What do you guys think? They're all one-shots so far.

I haven't gotten much of anything done recently, besides practicing Winnie the Pooh and company for my nephew's wall; my friend Norm tells me it's my first commission, even though I'm not getting paid.

I have started to design my Darkwing Duck costume. I've got materials for the face. I have no idea what material to use for his webbed feet. This will be my most challenging costume yet, as I plan to make most of it from scratch. Only 202 days till Halloween after all. :D

So, the big 25. All's I need is my driver's license and I'm ready for road trip fun. That and money, 'cause even rental cars require gas.

Oh, hey, I was watching Ducktales, Volume 2 the other day, and I've decided that Duckworth rocks! But nobody's really done him, artistically and fictionally speaking. So I want to change that but...Just add it to my growing lists of obsessions, rabid plot bunnies, and WIPs.

Upcoming awesomeness:

1. The Darkwing Domain ID Submission That Never Was: The only thing holding this back is laziness really. All's I gotta do is shade Quacky and Megs, and integrate the 3 pieces of the picture into one merged masterpiece. Ok, maybe not masterpiece, but y'all get the idea.

2. Upload some scraps after I clean them up a bit, so you guys know exactly what it is you're waiting for.

3. Clean up and color the three DT/ST x-over comic pics I've actually drawn.

4. Maybe scan some Pooh.

5. Dig up some more of my old Halloween costume pics and pumpkin pics to dazzle you with my ability to start too many things at once.

6. Random fic; don't hold your breath on this one.

One final note: If I've faved your work and I haven't commented yet, it's because I haven't had the time. One day, I will get around to commenting on your masterpieces. I just faved the work to either remember to coment on it, or to remember to check out your other works but wasn't sure whether I wanted to watch you yet.

As usual, check out my stuff and check out these cool places:

W00t! I finally uploaded something else! Aren't ya'll proud of me? *waits for enthusiastic pats on head* Go check it out. Pwease? It's Darkwing Duck and kinda crappy but, then again, I DID do it all with my lefthand in paint. All hail boredom!

And dig it: my monitor has finally come back from SONY. Due to laziness, I'll probably wait till tomorrow to test out whether they actually fixed the thing. Once it's back and running, I can actually work on my Photoshop works. I've got loads scanned from my sketchbook, but just didn't have the heart or the patience to color them on ol' Dinosaur 800x600 here. (Plus, once I have my LCD back with its wonderful 1280x1040 res, I can relieve my boredom by playing UT2004.)

Coming up soon, some scraps that I fiddled around with, the Darkwing Domain ID Submission That Never Was, and a sneak peek at the crossover comic I'm working on. Hopefully, once my friend uploads all those nice pictures he took, I can post my Halloween costume shots, too.

Boy, December's a busy month, what with Christmas and Chanukah and the afterschool class changeover. And with all that, it still wasn't as busy as October. Wrapping presents takes a whole lot less time than sewing costumes. And most of them are wrapped. So, lots more time to work on my art, which I have been.

I took my very first crack at Magica DeSpell yesterday. I didn't have any reference on hand and I hadn't watched her episodes for, um, days, but I think she turned out alright. I'll just need to tweak her a bit. I getting better at the boys and Webby. And my $crooge is getting downright polished by now.

The only thing holding the comic back is the other side of the crossover coin: cartoon versions of the original Star trek crew. *Adds Star Trek: The Animated Series to wishlist* The DT/ST crossover was supposed to be a fic, but partway through, I realized I totally abandoned the narrative and decided I liked it better that way. I mean, can you imagine trying to describe GizmoDuck in full battle mode in a reasonable amount of prose?

Oh, hey, personal goodness: I'm gonna have a nephew next year! The human kind. *sage nod* I mean, I love Maccabee--and I spoil him rotten like any good auntie ought--but, well, he's a dog. And I may be getting a new brother after the holidays! The cat kind. :D I was picking up Mac's gifts and my mum tagged along and saw the kittens for adoption. First time she held a cat since Whiskers went up to the Rainbow Bridge last May. I remember last Christmas, throwing the wrapping paper behind me; mum said, "Whiskers, go get it!" and I burst into tears. I'll probably lose it again this Christmas.

Sooo...
Check out my stuff. And um, check out these cool places:
